Certified Irrigation Contractor

Certified Irrigation Contractor Program

Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) status is available to IIABC member companies upon obtaining the credentials established by the IIABC. There are two designations, Turf-Residential and Turf-Commercial.

The requirements for each are as follows:

CERTIFIED IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR - TURF / RESIDENTIAL

• be a member company of the IIABC
• at least 3 years experience installing turf irrigation systems
• attend a business training course as prescribed by the society
• have a business license
• an employee of the company must be an IIABC Certified Residential Irrigation Designer
• the company must have a minimum of one million dollars liability insurance.

CERTIFIED IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR - TURF / COMMERCIAL

• be a member company of the IIABC
• have at least 3 years experience installing turf irrigation systems
• have attended a business training course as prescribed by the IIABC
• have a business license
• a company employee must be an IIABC Certified Commercial Irrigation Designer
• the company must have a minimum of two million dollars liability insurance
• a company employee must be a Certified Cross Connection Control Tester (or backflow tester)
  a company employee must have a low voltage electrical ticket

Cost: There is currently no CIC annual fee to remain certified. However, companies must maintain their credentials and be a member in good standing with the IIABC to retain the CIC Certification.
